🍪 Front Porch Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies

A classic homemade cookie filled with rich chocolate chips and crunchy walnuts — the perfect treat to enjoy with a cup of coffee, tea, and a good book.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease them.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars
In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  4. Combine dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture until combined.
  5. Add the good stuff
Stir in chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed.
  6. Bake
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between cookies. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool and enjoy
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Front Porch Tip ☕

For an extra bakery-style cookie, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. The cookies will bake up thicker and have an even richer flavor.
