A Sweet Taste of Summer Memories

There’s something special about recipes that bring people together.

The ones written on a well-loved recipe card. The ones shared around the kitchen table. The ones that fill the house with a smell that instantly takes us back to a favorite place or a cherished memory.

This peach cobbler is one of those recipes.

Perfect for family gatherings, Sunday dinners, summer celebrations, or a quiet evening on the porch, this dessert is simple, comforting, and made to be shared.

So pour yourself a glass of sweet tea, pull up a chair, and enjoy a little taste of porch-style goodness.

Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or frozen peaches, thawed)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

For the cobbler topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine peaches, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Let sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  3. Pour melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk until combined.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter. Do not stir.
  6. Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Again, do not stir — the magic happens as it bakes!
  7. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the top is golden and the cobbler is bubbling.
  8. Let cool slightly and serve warm with vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

A Little Porch Wisdom

The best recipes aren’t just about the ingredients.

They’re about the people gathered around the table, the stories shared while everyone enjoys a helping, and the memories created along the way.

So whether you’re making this for family, friends, or just because you deserve a sweet treat, remember:

A recipe shared is a memory waiting to be made.
